Knight of the Year
Determine which St. Matthew Council knight can best be called the “model” man for all in the parish to follow, from the list of monthly lay recipients in the fraternal year. In every aspect of service to the Church, community and council, as well as to each other, which lay member most deserves the title, Knight of the Year?
- Does the member have a robust prayer-life that goes beyond weekly mass attendance?
- Has the member made significant contributions to the parish and church community?
- Is the member active in participation and service to council programs and activities?
- Is the member active in serving his local community?
- Is the member a true Catholic gentleman? Does he serve as a model man to his brothers?
Family of Year
Determine which St. Matthew Council family stands above the rest in promotion of the principles of our Church and our Order, from the list of monthly recipients in the fraternal year. Which family can best be called the “model” family for all in the parish to follow? In every aspect of service to the Church, community and council, as well as to each other, which family most deserves the title, Family of the year?
- Is the family tight-knit? Does the family spend quality time together?
- Does the family attend weekly Mass together? Does the family pray together outside of Mass?
- Has the family made significant contributions to the parish and church community?
- Does the family serve as a model of Catholic family values?
